In Topic this week we have started our new focus of European Explorers. We began the week by “flying” to Europe and exploring four different countries. We recorded our findings in our new passports. Then we revised our knowledge of continents, countries and cities of Europe and produced detailed maps. After that, we explored the physical geography of Iceland and produced our own maps, highlighting physical features. Finally we researched the European countries of France, Italy, Spain, Germany and Russia and will use the information next week to begin planning a persuasive leaflet.
In maths we started the week by revising number bonds to 10 and 100 and applied to more complex numbers and number sentences. We then considered which strategies we can use when adding and subtracting and discussed how to select the most efficient one. We finished by exploring missing number problems, spotting patterns and using the inverse.
