This week in topic we have been working on something very exciting! In groups of three we made our very own structures using spaghetti and marshmallows. There was a big range in the shapes and sizes but a lot of us went for triangular shapes as we know that the triangle is the strongest shape. Once we had planned and made our structures we evaluated our work. To do this we put our structures on a tray of jelly and shook it for ten seconds to simulate an earthquake. We then took notes as to what we saw and then said what we would do differently if we were to do it again.
In maths this week we continued to look at fractions and finding non-unit fractions of objects and amounts as well as being able to order unit fractions.
Well done for all of your hard work Year 3 and we hope you have a great half term!
Year 3 team.
